Stress

I apologize for the lack of posts. We have been under a lot of stress and have not had the best Internet connection. Hopefully soon we will be moved into our new house and things will get back to normal and I can back track. As of right now my connection is slow and it takes a lifetime to upload pictures. Oaklen is having a great year at school and is handling all the shifts in living space like a pro. He's excited to get into the new house and starting his new school. He had a great 13th birthday! The little ones just had their 4th birthday and I will try to get pictures uploaded soon from both parties. The little ones are not taking the moves very well but I have hope to get them back on track in the new house. Temper tantrums are bad right now but to be expected since we have 5 sharing one bedroom. It must be tough being a triplet and spending every minute together. School is going well for me and I just finished up by first marathon with the cutest cheerleaders at the end. Adam has been running half marathons since he's having some knee issues. It seems to be what has kept up half way sane with the building process. That's all for today just wanted to get a bried "we are still alive" post!

Oaklen being the best big brother! He is having a wonderful Summer and get this.....he even volunteered to help me clean the kitchen the other day. I thought surely I was dreaming!

They are doing great and really enjoying the summer. They are growing up so fast. A few words they still say wrong are...buttwhoops (belt loops), coshquash (washcloth), pokanuts (polka dots), beetar (guitar). We refuse to correct them on these words because it's just too darn cute. We know soon enough these baby words will be gone and we enjoy the little smile it puts on our faces to hear them!

We had a long ride home yesterday from point pleasant and the boys were singing very loudly "Dina won't you blow, Dina won't you blow, Dina won't you blow your hoooorrrrnnn". Addison in hysterical tears says "I just want some quiet!" that's usually my daily thought but on this day Adam said "Addison just put your fingers in your ears" Addison replied with "ewwww that would make my fingers sticky."

Brock is having many temper tantrums at this age, but just as quick as it starts it ends and he apologizes. Addison is bossy and with Brock's short temper almost all fights are between the two.

Addison entertains herself very well she loves to color! She can write her name and many other letters. She will spend hours at time at the dining room table.

Tyler is at a very sweet stage. He's a very quiet child and will sit and snuggle long periods of time on the couch. No fights between him and the others unless the others really provoke him. He rather just ignore them and go about his day.

Of course we always have some type of craft keeping us busy.

We do a lot of play dough here. Its came down to using new play dough every time because they just demolish and blend all the colors. Good thing its cheap to replace. I wish I had gotten an after picture maybe next time.

We have hit some glitches with the house. All delays on the contractors side. It took a month to get a plumber....I'm not sure why but frustration is a main feeling around here with the builders. Looks like mid September it will be ready. (living room above)

Camping leads to new computer!

If you have been wondering about us we have been having a great time but no way to update because my brand new laptop got drenched in water after this camping trip. No a kid did not dunk it....it was the cooler which leaked all over it. Since I take online classes I had to go and buy a new one. Anyhow this was our last camping trip. All the kids had a blast. Oaklen absolutely loved the freedom of being able to ride his bike all around the camp ground! The little ones enjoyed fishing and a few long walks.

Brock caught the first fish. I'm sorry about picture quality I've been lazy lately and just catching pictures on my phone instead of my canon.

We ran into a lot of rain on this trip. We only got to play in the sand for about 5 minutes before we were running to the car!

Addison did not catch a fish right away but she was determined. She sat out there with her daddy way past the time the boys had came in! It was not until the next day that she caught one!

Other news:

Oaklen is in Texas for a few weeks visiting his grand parents. He's not kept in touch with me other than a quick goodnight. :( They must be keeping him busy!

The house is moving a long but a lack of plumber has put us behind by 3 weeks! Please oh please let a plumber get in there this week! It looks good from the outside but no plumbing or walls inside!

School is out for the summer! Oaklen finished with all A's and B's and I finished with another 4.0. I will try to get some of the last few weeks caught up on blogs and pictures in the next few days. Hope you enjoy!

Tyler student of the week!

Wow I can not believe it's been over a month since our last post. We have been non stop moving around here. Hitting the gym five days a week. The kids love going to the YMCA they go with us two days a week while the other three they are in preschool. Since they have gotten older it's much easier to get out and about with them in tow.

Oaklen is doing awesome in school! We are so relieved to have finally gotten the school system to change things up for him. It's been an all year struggle to finally get him switched into a smaller class room. Since he is ADD the large 3o something class he was in had him just drowning. It's such a shame that it took them all year doing paper work and meetings and documenting before they would finally help him but we are proud to say his progress report (with the exception of gym) had all 90's or higher!

Tyler is either having a tough time with the move or he has something going on health wise. I've taken him two different doctors for frequent urination but both times urinalysis and culture come back normal. They think possibly it's the stress of the move. He literally can go to the bathroom every five minutes and has been having accident when he once was completely potty trained.

Brock is also having an issue. It looks as though his hair is thinning. This I suppose may also be from the move although they both act and seem happy as can be. Brock is a thumb sucking hair twirler so the stress maybe causing more of this. I am wondering if the next move will be easier. I never though this would effect them so much!

Addison is a bossy little girl! She definitely is running these boys (including Oaklen). :) She tells you how it is and how you need to do it. She loves to draw and will sit down for hours at the table. She is a perfectionist. Love to help mommy fold wash cloths and towels. She is very bright for her age.

Adam spent last week and this coming week on day shift! It's been so nice to have him around in the evenings. We recently completed a 5K and Adam finished 8th in his age group with a time of 26:53! We have signed up for 3 more this month. We may have a little bit of an obsessive personality. :)

I finished the 5K in 31:28 ( I have shorter legs than Adam) Haha no honestly I am very proud to have ran the whole thing without walking and not once using my inhaler! My goal was to condition myself and my asthmatic lungs! I've also been studying non stop for school still carrying my untarnished 4.0. I've had a very tough quarter and have decided to take next a small break over the summer. I can not wait!

We are ready to be out of this rental! So far our land has a flat spot where the house will go and and a drive way. The non stop rain is putting us behind schedule. They need a few dry days to get the basement dug and poured. Maybe by next weekend **fingers crossed**

Addie Student of the Week!

Addison is student of the week at preschool. She took in her favorite movie "Tinkerbell". When I asked Addison what she wanted to be when she grew up she said a doctor (I like the sound of that) but more specifically she wants to be a pediatrician. It's even a word she can say perfectly. When I asked her who a pediatrician helped she said "sick people and babies". I sure hope she gets wonderful grants because I don't know how we can afford to put all 4 through college especially med school! :) I need to start saving now!

Brock Student of the week!

Brock is student of the week for preschool. He was very proud of his big poster and more importantly it was HIS and not something he had to share with Addison and Tyler. He got to bring in his favorite book "Danny and the Dinosaur Go to Camp" along with a movie which was Elmo's potty time.

Having multiples creates mixed feelings. You can look at them and see that they have what other kids do not. They will always have not only a friend but an extension of themselves. I could not imagine having that comfort with someone at such an early age and know it will extend through their life. I can tell they get tired of sharing all the time and being together yet if you take one away all they talk about is what the missing one is doing. I often think that their will come a day when I have to split them up. I wonder how will they survive in separate class rooms. Will they miss each other or enjoy being themselves. Right now in preschool they stick with each other like a little clump. I wonder if once they are split up will they constantly look to see where the others are as they do now.

Well those are my thoughts for the day. Just a quick note one the illnesses, the trio seemed to make it through with a very mild case. Adam got it really bad for about 2 days (I mean really bad) and I survived both H1N1 and strep throat together. Did you even know it was possible to have both? Ugg! Oaklen went through with nothing at all although he wished for a mild case to miss school. :) All are healthy now and looking forward to the move!

Where are we?

We are very busy. I know that is always my answer but just when I think we can not take on anymore more comes along. I think possibly Adam and I strive on change and constant movement. I wonder one day what it would be like to settle down. Is there such a thing? Adam and I took a small vacation a few months ago and the plan was to lay around and watch movies all day in bed. I made it through one movie and decided I had to get up and get into town. I get bored so quickly maybe that is why we are always so busy.

In November Adam and I placed an offer on a new house. Two months later we got an offer on ours and accepted it. The same day the house we were buying got a back up offer which they accepted. So after spending the day contacting lawyers and the broker to find the loop hole so we could keep the house I finally found it. It was do everything we had listed in the contingency within 72 hours. It was doable, but I decided a house was not worth fighting over. How silly to fight over a house. So we walked away. We now have four weeks to be out of our house and no house to move into. We are most likely going to build and find a rental house hopefully very soon.

Oaklen is still having a few problems in school, but very much enjoying church on Wednesday nights. I think it's what he looks forward to all week getting out of the house away from 3 year olds who sneak into his room and eat all his candy and away from his parents. It's his time to be with his friends. I really wish for him though that school would start to be more enjoyable. We have had a long talk about trying to look for the positives in the situations that seem to drag him down. I am hoping that the whole family including myself can take this advice as we are under so much stress.

The trio are sadly non stop fighting over anything and everything. I wish I had enough rooms to separate them so they could all have their own space. I'm sure constantly being together is tough. They are sooo active. I no longer can get them to settle down for anything. I try all day long just to get them to watch a little tv but they move from room to room leaving a tornado of toys as they pass through. They are still attending preschool three days a week and enjoying it.

The three days of preschool a week gives me a chance to keep up with my school work. I managed a 4.0 last quarter and look to be on target for repeating the 4.0 this quarter as well. I hope to be able to find time to keep this blog more updated. I will work on some pictures in the next coming days.

This is Oaklen's Christmas concert from last night. It went really well and I was surprised to find he actually knew what he was doing as we have not heard him play at all. His band equipment is left at school so no practice at home. He played bells and snare. I did learn that next one I need to get there early to get good pictures as these were taken from about 50 yards away luckily I had my big lens with me to get these. :)

Wooohooo we made it to 3! Will we make it farther? I hear 3 is worse than 2. I know I am a day late here the kids turned three yesterday I do apologize. Everyday our lives get busier. These three are running me in circles I don't know how much longer I can keep up with them. :) They had an excellent birthday despite being sick the week before. Poor miss Addie had pneumonia in her left lung, Brock had an ear infection and Tyler had sinus infection. For the first time since they were born I said "I can't do this" and called in for reinforcements. Thank you Toni and Doreen for coming to help me! I was absolutely wore out!

It's always fun having a Birthday so close to Halloween! The kids got to dress up two days in a row, once for trick or treat and again for preschool. The third day Tyler was upset and could not understand why he could not be Woody everyday. :)

I asked Addison what she wanted for her Birthday and she told me "purpur checkastix" (purple chapstick) and "purpur unrings" (earrings). I asked Tyler what he wants and he said "panpates" (pancakes). I asked Brock what he wanted but he was interrupted by Addison who said "He wants purpur unrings for Addison".

At the grocery store today a lady stopped to tell me Addison had the prettiest hair color and said she could not decide if it was blonde or red. Haha the red is not completely coming out of her hair from Halloween but at least it's a pretty tint. :)

Happy 12th Birthday Oaklen!

12 years ago today Oaklen was born at 9lbs 9 1/2 oz. He was a big chunk. He chose to be two weeks late to pack on a little extra weight. He was the most laid back baby rarely ever cried.

Now Oaklen is getting close to the teen years and boy do we have the attitude around here. :) He loves his little brothers and sister and on the weekends I see him get antsy during their nap time because he wants to play. He helps out a lot around the house doing chores (although not without complaining first). He's a typical 12 year old. Hates school, loves to play and draw. He likes to write stories and can fill a whole notebook within days. He's into scary stuff so he will enjoy Halloween this year and already bought a scary mask to wear. He is very much looking forward to his party on Saturday. He keeps asking me what the plan is so I tell him. An hour later he will ask again and I will tell him the same plan. Apparently asking a million times helps with the anticipation. Haha.

I know it seems as though I have abandoned the blog but I promise I'm just super busy. I've start back to college full time and I can't seem to fit everything in. I don't know what I was thinking four kids and school oh my! I'm a bit overwhelmed for sure.

The trio have started preschool with the 3 year old class. Their teacher approached me and said they were ahead of most of the 2 year olds so they would like to bump them up. Of course they look so tiny next to the 3 year olds. Little man still weighs close to what he did at age one so you can imagine how he looks compared to the other kids.

Oh the fun of trying to decipher a 2 year old.

Oaklen is still have a few problems in school, mainly just remembering to turn in his work. I asked him last night, after and email from his teacher, if he was hording work in his locker and he told me no. His teacher checked his locker today and low and behold his missing work! Why a child would take the time to do his work and just not turn it in is beyond me, but Oaklen walks to the beat of his own drum. :) He's enjoying band but seems to not enjoy all other subjects and I truly can not blame him there. I did not and am not enjoying school myself.

Oaklen went to his first school dance a few weeks ago. I asked him if he needed me to teach him how to slow dance. He said "no that's embarassing" I asked what was more embarassing not know ing how to dance when a girl asks or dancing with mom. :) A few hours later I caught Adam teaching Oaklen how to slow dance. haha. During the dance Oaklen just hung out with his friends so no dancing was involved. It was very odd to drop Oaklen off somewhere for a few hours on a friday night. I think this was the first time for me to ever do that.

I think I'm out of time. The kids are yelling from their rooms. I'll try to work on some updated pictures.

The upside (or downside) to being home with mommy all day is she is snap happy and makes up dress up for photo's.

The triplets are doing great. In fact they are ahead of schedule and were invited to attend the 3 year old preschool program. Normally they would have to wait another year since they are not yet 3. They start tomorrow 3 days a week 4 hrs a day. The preschool has given us a great price after I had researched many of them trying to find something we could afford the day care they were attending is giving us a price break.

Addison is completely potty trained day and night. The boys are doing so so through the day and I still put them in diapers at nap and bedtime. Not because I doubt they wont use the potty if I put one in their room but I am certain they would play in it.

Oaklen is having a tough time with 6th grade. We spent the weekend catching him up in math. Poor guy had to work on it for about 6 hours to get caught up with his class. We have had one meeting with his teachers and have another scheduled for the 14th with the district to get him set up on a 504 plan. For those of you who do not know what that is it's a contract with the school to get Oaklen extra help throughout the day when he needs it. I'll try to snap a few photos of him if I can get him to stay home long enough to do so. Although with all his homework more than likely that's what he will be doing. :)

First day of Middle School

Oh boy....I'm old enough to have a middle schooler. :( Oaklen first day of school went fine. He said it only took him half a day to get into his locker. Haha. We mentioned many times this summer getting him a practice lock and he kept saying "it won't be hard to figure out".

We had to work on getting his schedule changed to include band in which he will be playing the drums. Oaklen said he did NOT want to join the band he wanted to draw, watch tv and play video games. After getting his equipment I think he is excited. Are you seeing a pattern here? He's at that age where nothing mom and dad say can be right until he tests it himself.

These little ones below want to be just like bubby and had to have a "pack pack" too. Luckily I found these lunch boxes that were perfect size to pass as little back packs. :)

Cincinnati Zoo

We enjoyed a trip to Cincinnati to visit with my dad and brother at the zoo. Very proud to say Addison is completely potty trained all day all night. I even tried to put her in a diaper for the trip. She had a big fit and although I won, she wore it, she refused to pee in it the entire drive. This was a nice trip all around. The kids behaved nicely despite missing their nap and travelled to and from wonderfully.

A new pet

Oaklen went to the gun range with my dad and came home with a box turtle (named Tank). It was crossing the road and almost got hit. Instead of just picking him and moving him to the side of the road he found his way to my home via my 11 year old. We are a pet free home except for a beta and thought ok maybe this is something Oaklen can take care of on his own because I have enough to do. I mean it's free right? Surely they are low maintenance right? NO THEY ARE NOT! After a little research I found that there were many thing we needed for the survival of this turtle. After going to the pet store I found that there was even more needed. So this turtle has cost us a bundle but here are some pictures of the kids enjoying the turtle and his new home which somehow ended up in my room?

Bubby got home really late so when the kids got up they jumped into O's bed. They were so excited to see him it's so nice to capture these sweet moments. Especially now that we have 3 terrible 2's and a preteen. These moments don't seem to happen daily.

O loved his new room. He came in that night and I told him to go peak in on the babies. He went to his room (formerly their room) and threw himself on the bed. He absolutely loved it!

Quick update

I'm very proud to say Addison is almost completely potty trained. She has not worn a diaper in two days. She had two accident the night before and none last night. I put a potty in her room with a night light beside it and she seems to be using it.

Brock and Tyler are still having some accidents here and there if I do not remind them to go. I'm still putting them in diapers at nap and bedtime.

Addison told me the other day that her pee fell off. She said it all day long in a sad little voice "my pee pee fell off". I guess she feels she should have what her brothers have.

Tyler keeps telling us "I'm serious". I wonder how serious a 2 year old can be?

Brock gets mad at me when I laugh at him. Even if he is being silly if I start to laugh his eyes tear up and he tells me "NOT FUNNY!". :) oh the emotions of a 2 year old they change in seconds.

We made these hand puppets a few days ago. They were fairly easy and only cost us $1. Can't beat that. The kids love them! In fact they love them so much I am constantly having to glue eyes back on. :)

Tyler settled down for a nap reading a book. 10 minutes later this is how I found him. Yes he's asleep under that book and no I did not remove it. No way was I going to risk waking him!

Snapping out of auto pilot

There is no doubt that raising 4 kids is tough. Most days I honestly feel I am running on auto pilot going through all the motions. I get caught up in things like cleaning up messes while potty training, trying to get my oldest to realize homework is important, trying to get the kids to eat, just fighting the same battles day after day. Then you have a moment that just snaps you out of the everyday and puts a smile on your face as well as your kids. This is what makes all the struggles of raising kids worth it. Watching my kids paint these little guys and their excitement after seeing the final product just lit up my day today. We really enjoy our craft times. :)

Gem mining without the kids

Adam and I took off for a few days for some R&R. Little did we know gem mining is a lot of work. I mean hauling 5 gallon buckets full of dirt back and forth up a hill 50 times a day. We were so wore out we were asleep not long after sunset every night.

These are saphires. I know they look like rocks. I did not know there are 57 different types of saphires. This once cut is a smoky purplish color. I have some getting cut and will share them in a few weeks once I get them back.

These are Rubies. The one of the right side of the quarter was my big find. It is 170 CT. These rubies are a smoky pink color. Getting one cut and again will show later.

I know it looks as though I am nude here but I promise I was wearing a swim suit! This was our view of the sunset from the hot tub.

First time at the movies

I know these pictures are very dark. They were taken with Adam's phone. We took the kids to watch Toy Story 3. It was the first time to ever take the little ones to the movies and we were unsure what to expect. It was a little stressful at first since it was so dark (scary) in the theatre before the previews started. I also had forgotten to put diapers on Ty and Addie and ended up just finding some little swimmers in the van. The kids had a good time and loved the movie. Even Oaklen who said it was a baby movie and did not want to go. So glad they liked it because it cost us 75 dollars for our tickets, 3 small drinks and 1 small popcorn. I thought I was being smart taking them to the matinee only to find it was a 3d movie and not did not have matinee prices it was an extra 3 dollars per ticket!

Addison loves having her hair done so she had no problem letting me put her hair in curlers. :)

Adam left for a weekend fishing trip so the kids and I have been trying to stay busy. I did not get a chance to take pictures of all of our activities but I did snap some at the park.

Last night we baked cookies. I just got the easy you kind you peel off cardboard then stick on the pan, but it made the kids day to be able do that. We made cute sugar cookies with flags on them. Then we ate them up while they were still warm.

This morning bright and early we headed to the park. For some reason (maybe we were too early) they still had the gate shut so we had a long walk to make it to the playground and poor miss Addison, mommy put her in the wrong shoes and she got blisters. :( They still had a great time. By the time we got back home I could tell they were tired but it was only 10am so I really had to work to keep them up a bit longer for lunch.

This afternoon aunt Donna stopped by to see them and they played out back in the pool. I was hoping this would also wear them out and they would go to bed early. No such luck...I can hear the little monkeys jumping on their beds as I type.

Oaklen is still in Florida and is having a nice time. Today he left Orlando to head to the beach and should be returning home by Monday.

The flu

uggg, yes the flu is making it's rounds. Addie started Saturday with a 103.8 fever and continued through the weekend. Monday I took her to the clinic only to come home and find Tyler running a fever. They both seemed to get over it within 2-3 days when I woke up with it. I slept all day yesterday and called in Toni and Mike to help with the kids. When Adam woke up for work...he had it. Oh what fun this week has been! On a good note the kids are all feeling fine. Oaklen is in Florida with my parents missing all this action and the kids are at daycare today. I hope to get some new posts up soon as we have been busy and I have been snapping away with some cute pictures.

Ty is home from the hospital

It's been a long two days but Ty is home. He ran a fever with some coughing and wheezing Sunday morning. I gave him a breathing treatment in the afternoon which did not help. We started out at urgent care who told us to go straight the ER no stops. We spent 6 hours in the ER waiting to be transferred to a room. 9:30 we got a room. Tyler was having retractions. His respiratory rate was in the 150's, oxygen down around 89, and due to 4 breathing treatments in 1 hour he had a high heart rate. He spent the night on oxygen and around the clock breathing treatments and we were released sometime after 2 pm today. He was a trooper. Due to his age they are not wanting to diagnos asthma but we are all pretty certain that is the case due to my asthma. He has problems everytime a head cold is involved.

My little puffer fish

I asked Brock today if he was my chipmunk and he said "no" so I asked if he was my blow fish and again he said "no" but when I after if he was my puffer fish he said "yes". So here is what Brock's face looked like this morning. It's hard to tell the left side is even swollen since the right is so large but both sides were very big. This evening it does look like the swelling has gone down. Especially in the neck area. I'm hoping he wakes up tomorrow good as new.

When Oaklen got home from school he asked "Wow how did Brock get so fat so fast?"

Brock's Surgery

Brock's surgery went well. The doctor said both the tonsils and adenoid were huge. Brock had hard time waking up afterwards (4 hours to wake up), but when he was alert he was being himself and eating. We spent the night at the hospital and had a little set back when he got sick this morning but were released at 12:30. he woke up from a nap today swollen on his left side and I called the doctor on call who did not return my call but since he was acting fine I let it go. I went to wake him up for pain meds a bit ago and saw the other side has swelled up and called the doctor on call again who called back and said as long as the swelling does not hit his airway it should be fine. Brock and I are headed to bed now. If he's still swollen in the morning maybe I will add some more pictures of mommies little chipmunk.

This Monday my baby boy will finally be getting the relief he needs. As you can see from above his tonsils are so swollen he is having a hard time eating, breathing and talking. We tried weeks of antibiotics with no response. The tonsils and Adenoids will be coming out. Due to his age they will be keeping him 23 hours. I'll post an update on him when we return home on Tuesday.

Let me start by saying WOW what a workout. This was my first attempt at riding the trio around the neighborhood. I only made it about 20 minutes before I could just not go any farther. After riding down the street twice and coming back up that little bitty hill I decided to spend 15 minutes just riding the culdasac. The kids loved it although they boys were very very quiet the whole time. I had to keep asking Addison to turn around and make sure the boys were still there...haha. I tried to get Oaklen to ride with us but after snapping a few photo's he ran off the play with his friends. Sorry about the photo quality this was taken with my old camera.

For mother's day this picture was given to my mom in a nice frame. Addison was sitting with Nonni when she opened it Addison said "Two Donna's". These are my twin sisters and it boggles me that Addie has not yet figured out they are two seperate people. When Oaklen was very little he could tell them apart with no problem. I think they looked more alike when they were younger as well. They have made it a game to give Addison a hard time now and ask her at every visit "Who am I?" Poor Addison she just stares at them now afraid to get the wrong answer.

My itty bitty boy who has not gained a lb in a year has grown quite the appetite. I want to relay a conversation we had today.
Tyer "I want cake mommy"

This went on for a very long time as Tyler went through the list of pudding, pancakes, pizza, peas, applesauce, crackers, hambuders (hamburgers)and finally crackers. After telling Tyler he had just had lunch he told me "I'll make it mommy" he ran to his play kitchen pulled out a few pans and put his hands up to his mouth and started making noises you would hear cookie monster make. As you can tell by the way he rambled off all the sweets first he definitely takes after his mommy even if he looks identical to his daddy.

I know sometimes weeks go by without a post from me. I remember back when the trio were little and I was able to post every few days. The mile stones start to slow down so just not much to post on as often. I've thought of quitting the blog but then look back on all that I have posted that I may have forgotten otherwise. So even though I don't have much to say I'm sure down the road when I start to forget the little things I will be glad I kept it going. I started this blog 2 1/2 years ago to keep everyone up to date on the babies and over the years it's just kind of turned into my own personal baby book. So on that note, I would like to write something to each of my babies so that years down the road they may look back on this blog as well.

Tyler, my mini man. I call you my mini man because somewhere around the age of 1 you just seemed to have stopped growing. I wonder if down the road you will surprise us all and shoot up past the rest of us. Your so small that even in the smallest size underwear you have major droopy butt. You like to lay around on the couch for long periods at a time and watch tv. I say long periods of time but mean for a 2 year old as compared to your brother and sister. You are a big snuggler right now and very much a daddy's boy. You want to be held at all times and I have to hide in the kitchen to get away otherwise I would get nothing else done all day long. You are very easy going with your brother and sister and rarely stand your ground for a toy. If it makes someone else happy you are happy to hand it over.

Addison, you are so girly. When I try to put your hair in a ponytail you get mad and say "two pretties" meaning you want pigtails everyday. You love your purses, bracelets, chap stick and hats. You are very independent right now and refuse to let anyone dress you, even if it means you have to try it three times to get your shirt on the right way. You by far are the easiest to potty train. You get mad when I put you in a diaper for nap time, but I am sorry I just don't trust you yet. :) Stubborn would be a good word for you. When you get in trouble and are told to do something you can stare someone down for a good 3 minutes before bursting into tears about it. You so far look to be the athlete of the family. You can knock a ball off the tee pretty far and although you do everything else right handed you bat left handed. Your voice is very girly and high pitched. Being the mother of 3 boys you are very refreshing and love watching you grow.

Brock, bless your heart. I can't understand a word you are saying now adays. Your tonsils are so swollen you are having a hard time breathing, eating, talking and you snore like a man at night. Some nights it seems worse than others and I end up bringing you to bed with me because it breaks my heart. Soon though honey they will be coming out. I'm hoping at that point you will get some much needed relief and your appetite will return. You are mommy's snuggler right now and love to give hugs. Your hugs are the best. You grab ahold and really squeeze. You have some major temper tantrums but in the middle if I ask if you want a hug you stop and come give me a hug.

Trio, you all like to be rocked and sang to. You ask "rocka baby" and sing it with me as I rock you. You love to play outdoors and can climb things I'm not sure if I could climb myself. Your favorite food is mandarin oranges. There is not many things I can get you all three to eat but that's the best bet along with grill cheese. Brock and Addison, you have clashing personalities and strong willed. You two tend to fight a lot. Addison and Tyler, you two seem to buddy up and stick up for each other. Brock, I think this may be where some of your temper tantrums come into play and you get tired of competing with them, but it's ok cause your momma's boy and you can buddy up with me.

Oaklen, boy are you hitting the teen years early! You are starting to talk back and look more like a little man. Stop that! :) You are almost done with the 5th grade and will be starting middle school next year. It makes me nervous as I feel like I am starting a new school right along with you. You've had a tough couple of year but seem to really becoming out of your shell. You have made some good friends around the house and want to play with them all the time. It seems you are spending less and less time at home. I'm happy to see you have fun and do what boys your age do. You are growing out of my cute little boy and into a very handsome big boy.

Day one potty training done!

We did half a day of potty training today with the help of Nana Doe and Granny. What a chore it was! I've been putting this off because it is so much easier to change a diaper than to take a kid to the potty 10 times and hour. Right now it seems to be a novelty. They want to go every 5 minutes and put a sticker on the chart. We had only one accident. As you can see by the stock of 60 pairs of underwear we were expecting a lot more messes.

Oaklen won third place in his school art fair. This picture is taken at the county art fair where he was submitted for winning at school. Oaklen's teacher told me she found this drawing at the bottom of his locker and she took it out and submitted it. I've seen him draw a lot better than this but I like how he thought to put this drawing in action. With the leg raised like he is running/walking and the hand out pointing.

I really wish I had taken my camera to the dentist. We were there so long we could have fit in a whole photo shoot. It took 45 minutes for the dentist to come in after his cleaning and by that time the dentist laughed because Brock had chewed the bristles just about off the tooth brush they gave him. It was past lunch time. :) You all know how Brock is about his food.

First day of daycare

Today the kids went to their first day of daycare. I'm sorry I have no pictures of them there. I took some with my phone but have not figured out how to transfer them over. Below are pics of everything I packed up and sent with them.

They did wonderful. Adam and I dropped them off and then snuck out fairly quickly. We peeked in the window to see them all sitting at the breakfast table eating and staring at all the kids around them. I cried as soon as I made it to the van. Adam called an hour later and they said they had been playing just fine. I called again two hours later (haha) and all three were napping. When I picked them up this afternoon they were playing and happy to see me.

I enjoyed the day to run around and get things done outside of the house. I cleaned house in the morning ran some errands, grabbed lunch with a friend and went to mom's house for a bit. It was so nice to have some adult interaction and I look forward to my day off next week.

6 changes of clothes, 3 blankets, 3 pillows, 3 pillow cases, 3 sippy cups, diapers, cream and wipes all for one day a week. :)

I made these pillow cases for the kids to keep their nap stuff in.

Addison's teeth look fine other than her front teeth which came in with no enamel (Enamel hypoplasia). It's very common in preemies to have this happen. Sometimes it does carry over to the adult teeth but we are hoping it is not the case for her.

This is where my trio sleep every night. I put them to bed in their own beds and as soon as I leave the room they make themselves a bed beside each other. Maybe buying a queen mattress would have been a better investment?

Well me trio are officially talking up a storm. They were discharged from speech therapy and I was told they were the first set of triplets they had discharged without transfering to the school system. The trio are testing above their level. They can point and label colors as well as count to 10! Such smart babies I have!

Tyler's chin has healed up very nice. It's location hides it very well. I have to point it out for anyone to notice. As he gets older I doubt it will be noticeable at all.

Brock is still having daily temper tantrums and is very strong willed. He won't listen to a think I tell him..haha

Addie is very clingy now. Want's her momma all the time.

Oaklen's grades are improving but I am not sure if he will go onto middle school next year or not. He's struggling in math.

Our first trip to the ER

Yesterday Ty fell on the hardwoods and busted his chin open. I was home alone and tad bit freaked out cause there was blood everywhere and was unsure what I needed to do. So a few people may have gotten some crazy text messages and voicemail as I called the two nurses in the family first and probably sounded like a frantic lunatic. Adam was in a doctor appointment of his own and got an urgent "get home now!" text. He was able to get here speeding within 10 minutes. By that time I was able to get the bleeding to stop and Tyler was ready to play. He took Ty (and Elmo) to the ER who had him in and out within an hour and half. Adam said Tyler was so well behaved and just let the doctor clean it out and glue it shut. This morning Tyler said it was sore but within and hour into the motrin he was fine and has not complained all day. As if Tyler did not already look exactly like his daddy they will now have matching scars as well.

Addie has been a real character lately. She's been talking her brothers into getting in the shopping cart while she hauls them around the house as fast as she can. (not the safest of things I'm sure) but hilarious! She has also had a fascination with nakedness. She removes ALL of her clothes multiple times a day and night runs around the house screaming "Naken" I'm guessing it's the toddler version of streaking? She finds it very funny. She also told Oaklen this morning that he had a naked chin.

Addison can get herself stuck in the oddest of places. Daddy says I am mean since he rescued her while I snapped pictures.

This is Tylers sleeping spot. He likes to sleep by Addies crib. Since it's gotten cold he has been taking his blanket with him.

This is normal behavior in my house. Sometimes they prop the matress up against their beds and use it as a slide.

I have to pick my battles and this one was not worth it. Brock insisted on wearing the piggies! He looks very pleased with himself too.

Well I'll start with the disaster the kids made the other day, because it really was a moment burned into my memory. Adam asked afterwards why we did not take pictures but it was not anything I wanted to have to see again!

I had put the kids down for nap and it did not sound like they had slept much. Oaklen went up to check on them. I hear Oaklen from the top of the stairs stuttering around "Uh mom uh come here uh it's Tyler." Okay...... "Poop mom". Uhhhh???? "it's everywhere". Yay! What a fun day. Not only was it Tyler but it was all three of them and not one diaper but two. I had never seen so much poop in my life. We will start with Brock because he was fairly clean just on his hands. Addison had it on her hands and feet (she must have been doing a happy dance in it) and had tracked it all over the bedroom floor. It was caked in so bad I had to steam clean it a good 45 minutes and it still smelled for days. So onto Tyler who was sitting in his bed with it caked all over him. He must have been finger painting. All three kids needed to get baths (twice). I had to wipe down all the walls, doors, beds, all linens, and floor.

Tyler is getting so smart and absorbing everything like a sponge. He was refusing to do as I asked the other day so I swatted his butt. He looked right at me and said "Ouch be nice".

Addison has started to talk a lot! Even though we can only make out 3 or 4 words in her long jabbering. She will look right at you and say 4-5 sentences and she looks like she knows what she is saying. On the way home from moms the other night she talked a good 10 minutes.

Brock is still Mommy's snuggler. Let him watch 101 Dalmations in mommy's lap and he's got his thumb and I bet he would do it all day. He's on an independent streak and if you don't let him do it himself he throws major melt downs.

Oaklen is having problems this year in school. We have talked to his teachers and hope that we can get it straightened out. Oaklen has not been turning in his work despite the fact that he has done it!

I took the trio to Billy Bob's again with their birthday money. They had a great time playing with their friend Sam. Tyler kept going up to Sam and pointing at himself and saying "Tyder". He's very into names right now and wanted to make sure over and over that Sam knew it.

Brock enjoyed the fire truck as long as it was not turned on.

Wow, I blinked and 2 years went by. I'm so glad I kept this blog going to be able to look back at all the wonderful memories we have made in that time. Look how far my babies have come! Hooked to every tube imaginable, from the fear everytime they stopped breathing, from coming home on monitors for months and months and now my babies are running and talking and laughing. How lucky we are that they carry no preemie issues with them into the rest of their lives. Adam and I feel so blessed to watch our children learn and grow. On October 13th 1998 I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. After two days of labor he was born at 10:26 weighing in at 9lb 9 1/2 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long.

Monkey Genes....

Yes, my kids have to have monkey genes. It's the only explanation for the ornery climbing behavior. We got rid of the cribs when they started to not just climb out but climb into them. Now we are faced with what to do with the high chairs. We do not yet have a table large enough to fit six but looks like we will need it soon!

I got these videos mixed up Brock's should be first then Addie. The fun began yesterday when grandma and grandpa mysteriously found Brock sitting in his high chair. Then again today at lunch when I went to put them in their high chairs Brock was already there. So I pulled him out and had him show me how. Once Brock did it Addison decided to also so I pulled her out so I could record her too. At the end of the video with Addison Adam says "Monkey see monkey do and Tyler is a monkey too" in which Tyler says "ew aw ew aw".

Wow can you believe how big my babies are getting! Just wanted to share a few things that they are doing at this age.

Calling each other by name! Yes we have an Aaaaeeee, Tyder and a Bock.

Still loving (Melmo) Elmo and maybe a little bit (Cookie) Cookie monster.

Love using their utensils to eat and oh what a mess as you can see with the ravioli!

Addie's favorite thing right now is to swing. She stands at the back door and whines "Wing wing wing" It can be raining and she is standing their begging to outside.

We remain doing our morning stroller walks around the neighborhood weather permitting. The kids are still very shy and will not talk to the neighbors. (this is my me time as I can plug in the ipod and the kids are busy watching what's going on around them)

They can copy me saying the alphabet and it's so cute to hear Addie say Q "Cue"

They count 1,2,3 which is no surprise since I have been counting it out loud since their birth.

They love to color and play with play dough.

Brock is using his please,sorry and thank you signs very often. It's hard to turn him down when he wants 3rds and 4ths at the dinner table when he says "more please". Addie is also using them just not as often. She knows how to use them but gets angry when we ask her to. Tyler says "Gank goo".

Addison is copying me and making me very aware of my actions. I never realized how much I stand with my hands on my hips until she started doing it every time I was.

Toddler beds are well... don't switch to toddler beds EVER. Keep your kids in their cribs until they leave the house. Haha. So since switching other than the normal not wanting to stay in bed(keep in mind we removed everything possible from their rooms to try and keep them in bed and not out playing). I have caught my kids pulling the vents off the air ducts and putting anything they can down them including blankets. I have caught them pulling screws out of their beds,they have gotten ahold of the carpet and made runners in it, they have removed the door stopper, the wheels under their beds, and all the clothes from their drawers. I had to remove the door off the hinges because they were slamming it shut. And the big scare last week. Addison missing from her bed. It took me a few seconds of panic before I saw a small foot sticking out from under Brock's bed. She was sleeping under there. She refuses to go to sleep in her bed and put herself to sleep on the floor with her pillow, blanket, bear and blankie. Every night I go up while she is sleeping and replace her back to bed.

We are staying so busy with all the upcoming birthdays, hunting season, and the remodel. I appologize for the lack of posts. I have a ton of things I want to get on here but just can't seem to find the time.

Yep yesterday while at the store I had put grapes in the cart. While I had my back turned Addison was eating them. She would have gotten away with it if it were not for Adam who caught her in the act. Sneaky little thing.

Progress on the master bedroom

Sorry I got some of these pictures our of order. Adam and I got a lot done this weekend on the new master bedroom. I added some of the old pictures so you can see how much we have done. When starting it sounded like such an easy project but as we got into building walls and wiring we realized it was not so easy. We still have a lot of small jobs to do to get it finished up such as some hard woods in the hallway, some baseboards, a little touch up painting. The floor need a few good scrubbings to get all the dry wall dust off! However we are within a week or two of being able to move ourselves in!

Tyler's not afraid, however it took the other two a little bit more time to warm up. This is Papa's bear he got in Ontario Canada at Big Bear Camp last September. It weighed in at 410 lbs and was at least 7ft tall! Lets hope Tyler never runs into a live bear because he likes to look at their teeth.

Addie went to the doctor

After a weekend of high fevers for Addie we got her into the doctor today. She has an ear infection. She has been acting a little strange so I thought she may have also have a urinary tract infection. The doctor said she would rather avoid doing to procedure to test her for that but said the antibiotics for the ear infection would also clear it up if she does.
